Now I know no one wants to talk about this but I’m just going to say it: THEY WAY YOU CARRY YOURSELF MATTERS! This includes what you eat, how you dress, and the way you take care of yourself (but not in the way you think, keep reading).
If you want to learn how to show up as your best self to maximize connection and self-confidence, keep reading, friend! The secret to attracting the right people and showing up even more authentic is hidden in the way you treat yourself.
Appearance: Your First Hello to the World
How you present yourself is often the first message people receive about your worth. I know it sounds shallow, but the great part about accepting this is that we can then start to alter the way the people respond to us by altering how we show up for ourselves.
This doesn’t mean chasing perfection or looking like someone else. It means choosing clothes, hairstyles, and details that make you feel like your most confident self!
When you care for your appearance, you inherently will feel more confident. This changes the way people approach you, it draws respect, and it creates opportunities. Let’s get deeper into it!
Stay Fresh. Stay Magnetic.
Clean hair, fresh skin, and a nice scent are signals to yourself and others that you value your presence. Good hygiene quietly communicates self-respect, and people naturally respond well to that energy!
Here are a few simple ways to elevate your hygiene care:
Keep a signature scent. I like sweet scents, so I will only keep around sweet smelling lotions and perfumes. If floral scents make you feel more confident, find a perfume or cologne that fits your preferred scent profile and wear it!
Oral care will change everything. And I mean brushing, flossing, AND mouthwash! And even a little breath spray for the purse won’t hurt.
Fresh breath instantly boosts confidence. My confidence really turned around when I started doing all three twice a day and a round of whitening strips every 6 months. I know it sounds like a lot, but knowing your mouth is clean will really transform your confidence (and who doesn’t love a cleaner, brighter smile?).
Prioritize skin care. A simple routine (cleansing, moisturizing, and SPF) keeps your skin where it needs to be. You don’t need a 10-step skincare routine with every trending product to have beautiful, healthy skin! If you do have a lingering skin issue, seek professional help or research the heck out of which products you might need. You can also find a lot of good cleansers at the drugstore.
These secrets aren’t revolutionary, but once you get all of these down, you will effortlessly and subconsciously communicate to others: I deserve to feel good, confident, and cared for, every single day!
Healthy Food: An Automatic Glow-Up
The food you choose is literally going to fuel your body. When you choose good food, your skin radiates, you have more energy and your body will visibly thank you in so many more ways.
When you eat good, you feel good. When you feel good, your interactions become more enjoyable because you’re actually enjoying them!
Now let’s tie this back into how others treat you. I find often that when I’m eating something green, sometimes I’ll get a comment like, “You eat so healthy!” or “I need to start eating like that,” almost as if they are in awe of my choice of adding something green to my plate.
When people see you consistently choosing what supports your well-being, they notice. It’s a quiet but powerful reminder that you’re not someone who settles, you’re someone who gives themselves the best in every area (including food) and honors their body from the inside out!
